Founded by David Stewart and Richard Taylor in 2003, the company develops and distributes coprocessor synthesis and multicore software analysis technologies. CriticalBlue’s expertise is in the area of advanced programming and efficient use of complex processor architectures. The company has also been instrumental in the creation of the Multicore Programming Practices (MPP) working group as part of the Multicore Association. CriticalBlue maintains close partnerships with the world’s leading processor providers and users, many of which leverage the company’s technology in their design work.

Headquartered in Edinburgh, Scotland, with offices in San Jose, California, and Tokyo, Japan, CriticalBlue employs 25 people, primarily technologists. The company is funded by European, Silicon Valley, and Japanese venture capitalists and corporate investors, and its Board of Directors includes industry leaders Lucio Lanza and Eddie Anderson.
