Renesas Platform Support Packages
The Renesas Platform Support Packages (PSPs) for Prism are designed to help developers targeting Renesas multicore processors.
The following support is available for Renesas devices
| PSP Name | Target Processor | Target OS | Threading API | PSP Levels | Available Models in Core PSP |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SH4 | SH-4 (400, 500, 200) simulator with Prism support enabled | None | None | Instruction | N/A |
| V850 | V850ES simulator with Prism support enabled | None | None | Instruction | N/A |
| Imaging Hardware Accelerator Engine | Imaging Hardware Accelerator Engine simulator with Prism support enabled | None | Pthreads | Instruction, Core | N/A |
The Renesas Instruction PSPs support the SH-4, V850 and Imaging Hardware Accelerator Engine processor instruction sets. The PSPs are architecture specific, but not core or target system specific, allowing the use of a generic toolchain for the architecture. The PSPs are designed to enable quick application parallelization using what-if analysis and tuning features.
- SH-4 Simulator Integration A Prism capable Renesas simulator can be launched from within the Renesas High-performance Embedded Workshop Integrated Development Environment (HEW IDE), allowing trace capture to be controlled from within the same environment that is used to develop source code and build applications.
- V850 EL Simulator Integration A Prism capable V850 simulator can be launched from within Prism, allowing trace capture to be controlled from the Prism user interface.
- Imaging Hardware Accelerator Engine Simulator Integration A Prism capable simulator is available to allow capture of Prism trace files.
- Core Mapping Tasks can be mapped to cores to enable AMP analysis
Together, these features provide the user with an insight into the benefits of running and optimizing multithreaded code on Renesas processors.
